Mandate: (from BCS Credit Cooperative Articles and By Laws)
To provide members with education program for their progress and development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
a.) Formulate policies & procedures on member education.
b.) Monitor and evaluate implementation education program for members.

FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EDCOM AS MANDATED BY R.A.9520:
Keep members, officers, staff well-informed regarding cooperative’s goals/objective, policies & procedures, services, etc.;
Plan and implement educational program for coop members, offices and staff;
Develop promotional and training materials for the cooperative; and
Coordinating and conducting training activities.

THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF COOPERATIVE EDUCATION:
- Co-operative education creates awareness of the importance of co-operatives not only among members but also non-Members
- Co-operative training focuses on developing skills of people involved in Operation and analyzing the co-operative structure so that they can add more value to the economic activities of their members.

- How a coop can provide an edge in the competitive world
